What Do Men Want In A Woman – Are You Kidding?

What Do Men Want In A WomanSome researchers at the University of Indiana asked 1,000 couples, “What do men want in a woman?”

I was absolutely stunned at the findings. Everyone knows what men want in women, right? Well, not according to this recent project published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior and authored by researchers at the Kinsey Institute in July of 2011.

So what do men really want?

According to Julia Heiman, director of the Kinsey Institute, the findings showed that what men want in a relationship is caressing, hugging, kissing, and cuddling. On the other hand, women were found to be more likely interested in sexual satisfaction.

What do men want in a woman? Apparently men have reversed their stereotypical roles with women. Women want sex and men want fulfillment. But it doesn’t end there.

Match.com conducted a study in early 2011 to answer the very same question: What do men want in a woman?

Single in America is the title of Match’s study that provides some answers to the question, “what do men want in a woman?”

Marriage and Children

The findings from Match are no less astonishing than the Kinsey study. Match’s findings exposed long-standing myths about what men look for in a woman. In fact 33% of single men want to get married and 24% want children.

Conversely, only 15% of single women want to have children. Similar to men, 33% of women want to get married.

What Men Look For In A Woman: SEX Right?

Shockingly, among men aged 21 to 34 years of age, about 24% are virgins. I didn’t think anyone was a virgin after age 18 in western society. It just goes to show that men are not primarily interested in sex. Or, maybe women are not primarily interested in that 24% of men?

Do One Night Stands Lead To Long-Term Commitment?

For singles that have had a one-night stand, 35% of those wound up in a relationship.

Do Men Want Long-Term Relationships?

The survey referred to the work of Dr. Bianca Acevedo. Dr. Acevedo had been conducting long-term studies that surveyed couples who were together for more than a decade. Of those couples, 40% reported being “very intensely” in love with each other.

Impressively, these couples were not obsessed with anxious feelings about the future of their relationship and struggling with emotional highs and lows, but were extremely comfortable and relaxed with one another.

What Hasn’t Changed In Finding Out What Do Men Want In A Woman?

Not everything about men and their expectations about women have changed. Men still expect women to do most, if not all housework. A new study at the University of Southern California found that men shun housework and expect their wives to be chief cooks and bottle washers.

Among the other findings: Women want their men to help with housework!

Well, not everything can change, but if you are wondering what men want in women, do not fall for the tried and true mythological belief that men are sex-obsessed. If housekeeping is any indication, they are pigs though, literally.
